What else could possibly go wrong.
Casey was back to her usual best last night, many would probably go as far as saying she was the Ferns one shining light throughout another dismal performance and her loss on court for the remainder of the year cannot be understated.
When the depth of the Ferns is being questioned, being without her leadership on court as well as her defensive pressure is going to raise the pressure bar just a tad on the Ferns and could well see the international debut of Temalisi Fakahokotau who is the only player in the squad yet to see court time in the series.
Time will tell if the team are able to bounce back from the obvious shock and emotion of losing their Captain, and if they are able to salvage some pride to take a win in the series.
Or it could well be the start of bigger problems with England heading to our shores in just over a week's time, and they will be eager to show what they can do away from home after coming agonisingly short in the Commonwealth Games semi final going down by a solitary goal.
