NZ Breakers Pre season

Just when you think the sporting calendar is getting empty, the NZ Breakers are starting their pre season for the 2012/13 NBL season and it just so happens that the game is here in Christchurch which I can't wait to attend. 

Being a Breakers fan for a very long time I have definitely enjoyed their recent success and we are all hoping for a 3rd straight title. 

This will be their first game since the grand final and will be a good way to kick off the season against the Wollongong Hawks, game 1 of three around the country before the season kicks off on the 5th of October at Vector Arena against the Perth Wildcats. 

A big omission from the game tomorrow night is Tom Abercrombie, he wont be risked after ankle surgery and is still in the stages of final preparation for the start of the season. No word yet if he will play in Dunedin and Hamilton. It will be a big test for the team as it has been an extended break from the game for the team's Tall Blacks players Mika Vukona, Alex Pledger and Leon Henry. 

The Wollongong Hawks have a very strong roster with veteran Glen Saville and ex NZ Breaker Oscar Forman leading a formidable lineup.

I have heard wonderful things about the Breakers games up in Auckland. Apparently the atmosphere and the entertainment at the game makes for a wonderful night out. Have also been dying to hear the Breakers theme song just after half time...
